Autumn so far has provided us with some absolutely stunning conditions for our guided club dives, a lack of wind, a lack of rain, stable weather patterns in the Southern part of the country all have contributed to what has been a fabulous month of April for local diving, having said that, cool nights have quickly impacted on local water temperatures with a rapid downturn dropping us from 19 degrees at the end of March to now 15 degrees! A 4 degree difference is substantial and has seen a surge in divers now donning hooded undervests and drysuits.
The month of May will see a large group of club divers heading off to sunny Puerto Galera in the Philippines for a week of amazing diving and fun in the sun, the group will be away from 15 to the 24 May and again, with such large numbers away, we have scheduled in some compressor maintenance to happen, as such neither air or nitrox fills will be available during that period.
In our never ending quest to stay at the very top of the industry locally, we’re very excited about joining forces with another iconic brand and being able to bring our divers the opportunity to now access the brand BARE with a range of the world’s best custom cut drysuits. The brand BARE was born 50 years ago, the idea for BARE was kindled in a small shop on the coast of British Columbia. Two passionate divers—hellbent on crafting a drysuit capable of surviving their frigid local waters—came together with a vision and a dream.
The brand BARE has now also ventured into the design and manufacture of premium quality wetsuits of various thicknesses, redefining the meaning of the words Thermal Protection and Comfort. Yes… The BARE product is a premium product and yes that quality comes at a premium price, and why? Because the quality of the raw materials and attention to quality manufacturing and detail is second to none.
