Welcome to our first newsletter for our 2024-2025 dive club year!

Having just completed our dive club membership renewals for yet another year, we have to say that we’re blown away by yet another year of increased numbers in our club renewals, we have re-written the record books once again, obviously, we’re still doing it right as we head into our 26th year!

This year, adding into our renewal benefits a boat dive (to be used between 1 December 2024 and 31 March 2025) over and above your choice of air fill, Nitrox or tank hire card and throwing in a chance of winning a Scubapro G3 dive computer made it for the most attractive membership renewals ever and certainly set the bar pretty high!

We look back at our last membership year and are amazed by your support and attendances at our dive club events, in 2024 we’ve brought you some amazing guest speakers with people such as Kent Stannard from the White Tag project and Jason Edwards from National Geographics who drew a record crowd and kept you enthralled and captivated with a memorable presentation.

2024 was also an incredible year for international dive travel with 3 fabulously successful dive trips to Fiji, Vanuatu and Komodo, trips that have created life long memories, new friendships and experiences for close to 100 dive club members.

As we look to what’s in front of us heading into 2025, we firstly have our Christmas party set for 6 December.

We’re also working our way through some details for a charity fundraising event where someone will win BIG!!!
Date, timing etc… for this event will soon be announced

2024 GREAT VICTORIAN FISH COUNT!

Book your place now and join our very own Dr. Kate for this year’s annual GREAT VICTORIAN FISH COUNT event.  Running over 3 consecutive Saturdays 16, 23 and 30 November, Kate will lead you through all the ins- and outs of counting fish!  The data is received by our friends at the VNPA (Victorian National Parks Association) and collated to obtain an annual snapshot of our fish population.

The VNPA relies on dive clubs taking part in this citizen science project to obtain the required data and you’ll be rewarded with this year’s commemorative T-shirt (please tell us your required size when booking on!) .

To join in the fun, please either email the shop info@scubaculture letting us know which day(s) you’d like to attend and whether you need to rent equipment or not!

CONGRATULATIONS BRENDON RUSSO!

Brendon was one of the club members who took advantage of doing his renewal in the first week of the Early Bird renewals where he received 4 tickets in the Scubapro G3 computer draw.  Brendon was on our 11 November 2023 Open Water course and has been diving with his father Bryan since completing his course, bit by bit, Brendon has built up his kit and the G3 is now a welcome addition to his dive gear.

ANOTHER WINNER!!!!!!

Congratulations to Sharon Coleman who entered the SCUBAPRO SUSTRALIA photo competition needing to feature SCUBAPRO product(s) and having her entry selected as one of the winners, Sharon is also now the proud owner of a 60th Anniversary Scubapro G3 dive computer.
