JANUARY 2026 DIVE CLUB NEWSLETTER
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Although the start of Summer had record low temperatures, the gods of weather teased us somewhat with a little taste of what Summer should look like with a few days in the 30’s a week before and during the week after Christmas!
We live in hope that those few days aren’t the end of Summer and that warmer times will come and that our diving season extends well into 2026.
As 2025 comes to a close and 2026 opens itself up to us, we reflect upon what our hobbies can offer us and how they can enrich our lives and give us something to look forward to.
For us, diving and snorkelling has always been a passion, so we made it our profession and source of income so we could ensure that we worked within an industry and environment we love. This also allows us to introduce others to our passion. The saying “do something you love and you will never work a day in your life” has certainly applied to us over the last 26 years!
So, how can you incorporate diving and snorkelling into your life? Well what we have noticed here with divers that come in is that they are planning. Planning dive trips, planning dive courses in order to further their skills, planning to go snorkelling… The thing they all have in common is that they are giving themselves something to look forward to.

We hope that we have given you some opportunities to plan and trips to look forward to. From the number of enquires and bookings coming through for our trips through to 2027 – we think we’ve been part of that with the growth in dive travel and people wanting to enrich their lives with diving, and being recipients of historical and cultural experiences. My memories of our recent trip to Palau are still with me………….. Warm water – 30 degrees, stinger suits, 1.5mm to 3mm neoprene garments, a quarter of the weight of lead we dive with in Melbourne, our tanks ready to go on the boat, 30 to 50mts of visibility, glass smooth sea conditions, a 2 minute stroll from our resort to the dive centre, lunch chosen from a menu the day before along with a range of refreshments served on the boat during our surface interval, not to mention the fish life overload on each and every dive, the pristine coral, and the overall ease of getting in and out of the water…
As stated in our December newsletter, due to the popularity of the 2025 trip, we have re-booked a group departure for Palau – October 2027. The package was launched quietly last week as we finalised a few details and immediately, divers from our 2025 dive trip have booked a return trip.
