As we kick off yet another Scuba Culture membership year, we want to thank all of our renewing members for their loyalty – Once again going into another year sees yet another increase in our membership renewals, albeit a modest increase, it’s an increase nevertheless.
In looking forward to 2026, we look forward to bringing you some amazing diving experiences whether they be locally on our weekly guided club dives, on your renewed member free boat dive or on one of our international dive trips.
Whilst on the subject of dive trips, the trip report from our recent dive club trip to stunning Palau where we encountered some of the best diving and best dive conditions imaginable in available at https://scubaculture.com.au/dive-travel/dive-trip-reports/ ! – so much so that we’re looking at heading back there again in 2027 with several of our divers from this trip heading back there for a second serve!

THE GREAT VICTORIAN FISH COUNT!
Once again, we’re delighted to join on the VNPA’s (Victorian National Parks Association) citizen science project and initiative that contributes to a yearly study and snapshot of our local fish life at our dive sites, over the years, the data collated has proven critical in providing government information to act on protecting species and the opening and closure of various foraging seasons for sought after species.
The event of THE GREAT VICTORIAN FISH COUNT wouldn’t be what it is if it wasn’t run by our very own marine biologist Dr. Kate Naughton who is the undisputed guru of all creatures swimming or creeping and crawling around our bay. Kate herself loves this event, it puts her in her element of research and data collection in her own back yard and all this whilst involving our dive club members on the dives as well as providing them with all sorts of valuable information post dives at her de-briefs.

Each dive is limited to 8 participants, all participants are briefed on how to record data and fish life population during the dive with fish ID slates provided. Kate also provides an educational post dive de-brief back at Scuba Culture packed full of information and often illustrated with a show and tell from her wealth of knowledge and library.
