As we move into the middle of Spring and with Day Light Saving having kicked in, the days are longer and warmer (bit by bit!) and we’re seeing more and more divers emerging from the Winter hibernations and re-engaging with the diving community.
Although numbers on our guided club dives haven’t been massive, people have joined in nevertheless and enjoyed the camaraderie and social side of an underwater outing and we know that as we move closer to Summer, numbers will steadily increase.
The month of October also signifies the end of the 2025 membership year, so for some, this will be the last newsletter and bulletin to come through, for others who choose to renew this will be another year of fabulous benefits, but more on that a little later in the newsletter.
A reminder that we have some scheduled compressor maintenance taking place whilst we’re in Palau from the 19 to 26 October inclusive and that air/gas fills will not be available during that period of time.
A price rise coming in – effective 1 October 2025. Like everything and everyone else, we’re not immune to the tyranny of rising costs, we can all see that on power bills etc… Power is one of the biggest costs to affect the running of a 3 phase nitrox generator compressor like the one we run at Scuba Culture, that along with increase in cost of filtration materials both for air and nitrox in the last 12 months as well as a similar cost increase in the specialised oil required to run our machine.
Standard air fills will go from $15 to $18, standard banked 32% Nitrox will go from $22 to $25, in the scheme of things, this is still a relatively cheap way of having an hour+ of underwater fun.
