Training in SSI Search and Recovery will help you master your basic scuba skills while giving you in-depth
information on the necessary equipment, skills, knowledge and experience required to properly execute a
recreational search and recovery operation for small to medium size objects.

On this course you will learn the basics of:

Evaluating a potential search
Mental and physical factors involved in a search and recovery
Equipment needed for various types of search and recoveries
Personnel and team requirements
Communication techniques used in search and recovery dives
Locating the recovery site
Search patterns
Recovery equipment and techniques
Lift calculations

Prerequisites

Open Water diver certification

Inclusions

Search and Recovery manual
Scuba equipment (BC, regulators & tanks), Recovery equipment, Air fills, all tuition and dives
1 Theory evening, 1 Day’s diving

Exclusions

Mask, Snorkel, Fins, Boots, Gloves, Diver slate, Diver Tool, Compass, SMB & Spool
Wetsuit & weights ($35 per day for the wetsuit & $15 per day for the weights)
